7/25/01 - Well, I just got back from recording something I'm (for the moment) pretty pleased with. So that's good. I'm encoding it to an mp3 as I type this. (listen. It's called "drowned on socks.")

The last time I went to the practice space with the intention of recording something, there was a... mishap of sorts. I reached for my guitar, only to find it was covered in a substance that looked like motor oil. Confused, I tried to figure out what had happened, and noticed that the stuff was dripping from the ceiling. After having spoken with the owner, I learned it was cooking grease that leaked through the floor of the kitchen of the restaurant upstairs. I'll be eating there real soon. Yeah.

Luckily, after I took apart the guitar and cleaned it out, it was fine. It's a toughie. It's been through some stuff, that's for sure.

And on the bright side, the practice space owner is going to refund my rent, which will be a real help since I'm not working at the moment (which still rocks).

I've started to passive-actively look for some people to play with, to get this whole thing off the ground. I'm pretty happy writing and recording by myself, but without some people to work with, all this stuff stays on tape/mp3/whatever. I'd like to work towards playing out again.
